Canada Day Celebrations

Edmonton celebrates Canada's 143rd Birthday with pancake breakfasts, barbecues, family events, and birthday cakes all leading up to a spectacular Canada Day fireworks finale in the River Valley!
"Celebrate at the Alberta Legislature from 7 am to 5 pm." Start the day with a pancake breakfast, cheer on a charity fun run, stay to enjoy an open house, free entertainment and festivities for all ages. Â
City Hall will be hosting an array of activitities from 11 AM to 4 PM.  Live music, entertainment, indoor stage shows, displays, kids crafts, prizes, face painting, balloon fairies, magicians, dancing and much more are planned! All are invited to partake in the Celebrate Canada Workshop/Works Mosaic from 12 noon to 5 pm at City Hall, as part of The Works Art and Design Festival.  Instructor Kelly Bibkewich will lead participants in decorating their own pattern of a Canadian symbol, onto a 6 x 8 inch template. Participants are encouraged to pin completed mosaics to the wall or completed mosaics can be taken home as a souvenir! On the web: www.theworks.ab.caÂ
Edmonton City Centre will be open for shopping from 12 Noon to 5 PM.
"Canada Day Festival at Louise McKinney Riverfront Park" from 2 PM-9 PM. Live entertainment, crafts, and family activities!
Edmonton Folk Arts Council present an array of multi-cultural folk dance performances at the Winspear Centre for Music at 4 PM. Free admission. Donations to the Food Bank will be accepted on site.

Spectacular fireworks display over Edmonton's river valley parks and the North Saskatchewan River!
Good Viewing Locations: Alberta Legislature Grounds, Victoria Park (River Valley Road), Ezio Faraone Park (west entrance to High Level Bridge on 109 Street North), Dantzer's Hill (below Queen Elizabeth Park), and Government House Park (Groat Road and River Valley Road). Please note there is no viewing from Kinsmen Park.
