Downtown Dining Week is a twelve-day culinary festival, celebrating Downtown restaurants. From March 11 to 22, enjoy multi-course menus at participating Downtown restaurants and eateries, and these special culinary events. Space is limited. events

Lunchbox Shorts with the Edmonton International Film Festival 

Wednesday, March 11, doors open at 11:45 am, $15

10200 102 Avenue, Edmonton City Centre

In support of Downtown Dining Week, EIFF and the DBA are presenting two (2) unique short film programs at Landmark Cinemas 9 City Centre @ 12:10pm each day.  Curated from festival archives, each program runs 50-minutes, giving you just enough time to get back to your desk.  Lunch is INCLUDED and consists of a sandwich/wrap and something sweet.  If you require GLUTEN-FREE and/or VEGAN, we recommend that you bring your own lunch.  Tix are $15 and available at Landmark Cinemas kiosks in Edmonton City Centre or online HERE.  Doors open at 11:45am.  Seating is limited, so we recommend that you purchase tix in advance. 

Lunch on March 11 will be provided by Rostizado by Tres Carnales

Curtains rise on the 34th Edmonton International Film Festival on Sept. 24.

Citadel Theatre, 9828 101a Avenue

Enjoy a three-course dinner at Normand’s in the Citadel Theatre, then head to Mercury Opera’s “La Boheme” to enjoy an immersive and intimate experience that breaks down the barriers of opera. “La Boheme takes Puccini’s beloved tale of youth, love, and despair to New York’s Alphabet City circa 1979, where disco, drag queens, painters, punk rockers, and poets converged and asks the ultimate question: is love enough?

Course 1 - smoked salmon, cream cheese roulade, butter leaf lettuce, cherry tomatoes and pickled onions with honey mustard dressing
Course 2 - chicken supreme stuffed with smoked bison and mushroom, served with vegetable, mash potato and sundried tomato cream ragu
Course 3 - chocolate molten lava cake with pistachio ice cream and chocolate sauce

Enjoy a special two-course lunch at Madison’s Grill in Union Bank Inn, followed by a tour of the historical Union Bank Inn.  You will have a chance to view the hotel’s collection of heritage and contemporary guestrooms and suites, set within the historic 1911 Union Bank of Canada Building. Participants will also be entered into a draw to win a one-night stay in a Premier Luxury Guestroom for two, including fireplace, evening wine & cheese service and breakfast.

This tour takes you to the center of Edmonton’s booming cocktail culture and to some of the best drinking rooms in the city. You’ll sample delicious libations at three Downtown spots. Swap tales of Downtown Edmonton history and learn how Edmonton’s bartenders are revolutionizing Edmonton’s cocktails scene. This tour is not recommended for anyone with allergies and food restrictions, as no substitutions will be allowed.

Take in this unique Downtown Dining Week event that pairs cool writers with even cooler locally brewed beers! Attendees will enjoy readings from poets and fiction writers curated by Glass Bookshop while sipping refreshing local beer samples.  

Featured writers are Wayne Arthurson, Rayanne Haines, Michael Hingston and Matthew James Weigel.

Edmonton Downtown Farmer’s Market Tour

Saturday, March 21, 9:30 am - 10:30 am, $20

10305 97 Street

Join Cindy Lazarenko, co-owner of Culina Family of Restaurants, for a one-hour tour of the Edmonton Downtown Farmers Market in its new home in this historic GWG Building. Participants will meet vendors, sample fresh produce and go home with a City Market thermal bag filled with market produce and ten dollars in City Market Bucks. Tickets must be purchased in advanced online.

Parking is free in the two Impark lots located directly behind the building.
