Join on August 4 for our monthly Cinema for Seniors screening of the 2011 documentary Pina in the Ledcor Theatre. This screening is part of public programming for the current exhibition Dance Party. After the film will be a 30-minute discussion, including tea and treats for all guests.
Directed by Wim Wenders, Pina is a tribute to German dancer and choreographer Pina Bausch. On June 30, 2009, during preparation for the project, Bausch died unexpectedly. While Wenders cancelled the project, the dancers of Bausch’s company (Tanztheater Wuppertal) convinced him to proceed as planned, to memorialize Bausch and some of her choreography.
