This year’s Brunch & Learn panel focuses on books that explore themes of wellness, well-being, recovery, and healing. Attendees will enjoy a catered brunch by Edmonton’s Chef Holly Holt while engaging with authors whose work offers insight, reflection, and inspiration around wholeness and wellness.
Featuring Authors:
Chyana Marie Sage (Soft As Bones) – A Cree, Métis, and Salish writer from Edmonton, Sage explores generational trauma and the power of traditional healing in her poetic memoir. MFA from Columbia University.
Quill Christie-Peters (On Wholeness) – Anishinaabe educator and self-taught visual artist from Lac des Mille Lacs First Nation, Christie-Peters explores the body as a site of healing and resistance, connecting ancestors, spirit, and land in her work.
Kate J. Neville (Going to Seed: Essay on Idleness, Nature and Sustainable Work) – Associate Professor at the University of Toronto in Political Science and the School of the Environment, Neville’s essays explore slowing down, sustainability, and the labor of humans and non-human inhabitants alike.
