The City of Edmonton is bringing back Movies on the Square to Sir Winston Churchill Square! Come out and enjoy The Super Mario Bros. Movie on June 27, My Fair Lady on August 16 and Matilda on September 8. Bring your lawn chair and enjoy the fabulous pre-movie entertainment before taking in the blockbuster hit that will be playing on a 3-storey high inflatable screen. Make it even more fun by dressing up in the theme of the film!
Movies will include closed captioning.
Come early and join in on the fun! Pre-movie entertainment begins at 5 pm.
Food and snacks will be available for purchase at on-site food trucks from 5-9 pm.
This is a family-friendly event so the organizers are reminding guests: no alcohol or smoking, please.
Gotta Minute Film Festival
Come early for the Gotta Minute Film Festival as part of the pre-movie fun. The festival features 1-minute silent short films in public spaces. Gotta Minute is a celebration of public art on public transit and in public space. A gem of a festival for one and all, big and small, Gotta Minute is funded in part by the Edmonton Arts Council and is co-produced by PATTISON Onestop and the Film and Video Arts Society of Alberta (FAVA), which has served the filmmaking community in Edmonton for more than 40 years.
