Join the AGA on for a special Halloween edition of their monthly film night

Join the Art Gallery of Alberta for a spooky screening of two ghostly films, starting off with the classic Tim Burton film Beetlejuice and then Ringu (リング ), the original “the Ring” movie that started the horror franchise. Ringu will be screened in Japanese with English subtitles. Enjoy one film for $10 or both for $15. Members to the AGA are Free.

This event is open to all; however, please note that Beetlejuice is rated PG and Ringu is rated 14A. The film is suitable for persons 14 years of age or older. Persons under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Beetlejuice is a 1988 American fantasy horror comedy directed by Tim Burton, starring Geena Davis, Catherine O’Hara, Winona Ryder, and Michael Keaton as the titular character. The plot revolves around a recently deceased couple who, as ghosts haunting their former home, contact Beetlejuice an obnoxious and devious “bio-exorcist” from the Netherworld, to scare away the house’s new inhabitants. (92 Minutes)

8pm | Ringu (Rated 14A)

Ringu is a 1998 Japanese supernatural horror film directed by Hideo Nakata, based on the 1991 novel by Koji Suzuki. The film stars Nanako Matsushima, Miki Nakatani and Hiroyuki Sanada, and follows a reporter who is racing to investigate the mystery behind a cursed video tape; whomever watches the tape dies seven days after doing so. (95 Minutes)
