Halloweekend in Downtown Edmonton

All dressed up in your spookiest wears with nowhere to go? Downtown has you covered this weekend. Here is what you and the ghouls should check out. 

Saturday, October 30

1pm Round up the gang and hop in the Mystery Van with costumes in hand for Central Social Hall’s second annual Halloween Brunch Party. Soak up a night of BOOze with their $15 dollar brunch menu and groove to nothing but the best in Hip Hop, R&B, Dancehall, Old School and Latin tunes. Costumes are mandatory so plan ahead. 7pm The Payback will be playing back all your favourite Halloween hits at Rocky Mountain House. Following the thriller group dance, DJ Kris King will keep the runway hotter than hell for a costume contest with his fire beats. Tickets are $10, call Rocky Mountain Icehouse to reserve your spot (780-424-3836)

7pm Park your broomsticks outside of the Canadian Boohouse for their cash prize costume contest and drink specials so good they’ll have you howling at the moon.

8pm Forget the candy, treat yourself to cocktails, brews and a spooky good time at the CRAFT Boos Bash. Strut your stuff in their costume contest for you chance to win incredible prizes or dance all night at the monster mash with live music spinning all night. Book your table at 780-424-2337.

9pm If your Halloween playlist includes My Chemical Romance or you’ve considered going as the reapers from Brand New’s The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me, you’re going to want to black your eyes for Hallowscene Emo Night at the Starlite Room. Sing your heart out to the emo anthems from the past until late. Tickets are $10 in advance. Costumes encouraged! 

9pm Oogie Boogie Nights Returns! Halloween wouldn’t be the same without the annual Transmission Halloween Dance Party. Djs Blue Jay and Eddies Lunchpail will be spinning the best in alternative, indie and electro beats with a spooky twist until late at 9910. Costumes are encouraged, along with grabbing your tickets early as this is always a sell-out event! 

9pm Hip Hop Halloween is BACK at The Common this year. Stuff your face with treats as you dance your mask off to the freshest beats in Hip Hop & RnB oldies, classic tunes and forgotten gems. Prizes will be given out to the best dressed! Tickets available in advance.

9pm It’s Evolution Wunderlounge’s favorite time of year and they’re pulling out all the stops. Saturday is the main event, with cash prizes for the best costume, 50/50 draw, and a mini drag show featuring GoDiva, Gemma Nye, Ladonna Cree and Panos. Tickets are $15 in advance.

Sunday, October 31

12-4pm Scare on the Square! Stop by Churchill Square from 12-4 pm on Halloween for games, treats, fireside spooky stories, and a visit from Super Pumpkin. 

9pm Three floors, two DJ’s, and one HUGE 90’s themed Halloween house party! Experience three levels of spooktacular fun at El Beso & Pablo. With feature cocktails, costume competitions, and tunes that go bump in the night - it’s the best way to celebrate the scariest night of the year. Tickets available here.
