Explore downtown through the lens of labour history with this guided walking tour organized by ECAMP (Edmonton City as Museum Project). Hear stories of the people who built the city, from Indigenous labour in the pemmican industry to garment workers, immigrant builders, and the spirited 1947 Chocolate Bar Strike.
Along the way, you’ll get to try a modern version of pemmican, visit key historical sites throughout the core and the river valley, and even create your own protest sign.
Tours run rain or shine and cover 2.5 to 3 km of mostly level sidewalks with rest stops along the way.
