The 2025 Edmonton Dragon Festival fills the downtown and river valley with a week of high-energy performances, cultural celebrations and family-friendly fun.
Here’s what to check out:
• Aug 16 & 17 – Dragon Boat Races return to Louise McKinney Park, with teams from across Canada competing along the North Saskatchewan River
• Aug 18–23 – Lion Dance workshops and cultural activities at the Multicultural Centre and CTC Storytelling Centre
• Aug 24 – Canadian National Lion Dance Competition – Finals at the Edmonton Convention Centre
• Aug 24 (evening) – Dragon Ball: A cultural celebration and party to close the festival in the Edmonton Convention Centre
Throughout the week, enjoy free and interactive events like storytelling sessions, kite flying, and inflatable dragons in the park. Most activities are free and open to all ages.
