Where can I buy the Edmonton Downtown Gift Card?

You can purchase the Edmonton Downtown Gift Card online and the card will be shipped to the address provided within 7-10 business days. You can also purchase a Gift Card in-person at EAC Shop & Services (formerly TIX on the Square) and Edmonton City Centre Mall.

Where can I use the Gift Card?

The Edmonton Downtown Gift Card is valid for in-person purchases at currently participating businesses. To see a list of currently participating businesses, see above. The list is always growing, so be sure to check back often.

When I’m at a business, how do I pay with the Edmonton Downtown Gift Card?

When you are ready to pay for your bill at a participating business, present your Gift Card to the cashier and it will be processed just like a regular card payment.

How do I check my available balance?

To check your balance, go to www.getmybalance.com. Enter the 16-digit card number on the back of the Gift Card and enter your 6-digit Security Code, then click Check Balance. You can also check the balance, by phoning the toll-free number on the back of the card.

Can I use the Gift Card if the available balance does not cover the total purchase?

Yes, ask the participating business to split the purchase. First, let them know your available balance and ask them to only authorize the available balance. Then, ask them to cover the balance of your purchase with another method of payment

Does the Edmonton Downtown Gift Card expire?

No. The funds on the Gift Card do not expire. However, there is a “valid thru” date on the Gift Card so that it can be replaced after 2029. Funds are still available after the “valid thru” date has expired. In order to keep making purchases after the date has passed, please email us or phone us at 780-780-424-4085 for a replacement after the card has expired. Note: we are not responsible for lost or stolen cards.

Are there any activation fees, reoccurring maintenance fees or other fees charged?

No, there are no fees charged to Gift Card holders or participating Edmonton Downtown businesses.

I’d like to gift my employees the Edmonton Downtown Gift Card. How do I make a bulk purchase?

Please email us at info@edmontondowntown.com to purchase bulk orders of the Gift Card.

Can I make online purchases with the Edmonton Downtown Gift Card?

No, the Gift Card can only be used for in-person purchases.

I’m an Edmonton Downtown business. How do I join the program and start accepting the Gift Card?

The Edmonton Downtown Gift Card program is designed for consumer-facing businesses that are open to the public and provide products & services that would generally be considered as gifts. Eligible participating businesses include restaurants, bars, arts & cultural venues, cafes, hotels, retail, spas & personal care services (non-medical), and health & fitness centres (non-medical). If your business is located within the Edmonton Downtown borders, please email us to learn how to become part of the program

Edmonton Downtown Gift Card is issued by Peoples Trust Company. Funds are not insured by the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC). Funds do not expire, non-reloadable and no cash access.
