La Catrina

Authentic Mexican food made straight from family recipes.
"The flavours that we offer are really authentic and bring me back home."

Meet chef Jocelyn Mendoza from La Catrina, a common face at Edmonton’s farmers’ markets. Pick up some mouthwatering Mexican food (made with love!) when she visits the Downtown Farmers’ Market.

How would you describe your business?

“We offer authentic Mexican food, the type we grew up with when we were kids in Mexico, and we prepare it with our family recipes. To bring to Edmonton customers the best quality Mexican food, at our booth we sell Mexican gourmet empanadas, burritos, tortilla chips, tamales, taquitos, salsas, guacamole and Mexican street corn. We prepare everything from scratch.”

Out of all your products, which is your favourite?

“My favourite product is our Mexican gourmet empanadas because the flavours that we offer are really authentic and bring me back home.”

What does it mean to you to be a part of the Downtown Farmers’ Market?

“We are really happy to be part of the Downtown Farmers’ Market community because the love and support from our customers at that location is unique. Every Saturday our customers will show up to support us; no matter if it is a rainy or windy day, they will be there to support us.”
