Animethon returns to the Edmonton Convention Centre from August 7 to 9 for a massive three-day weekend celebrating anime, manga, gaming and Japanese pop culture. Operated by the non-profit Alberta Society for Asian Popular Arts, this volunteer-run festival brings fans together from across Western Canada for a weekend of continuous community events, art and creative performance.
Event highlights
Animethon Music Fes: High-energy Asian pop and rock music concerts hosted live each night of the convention.
Massive programming lineup: Non-stop anime music video (AMV) showcases, custom vendor halls, creative artist alleys and interactive fan panels.
Charity auction: A live memorabilia auction hosted alongside Edmonton Extra Life, with all proceeds directly benefiting the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation.
