Visibility is only the beginning.

Official Unveiling:

Saturday, July 4, 3 – 5 PM

See this brand-new art exhibition from July 4 – December 1. Curated by Darren Jordan, To Know Us… is the second in a series of exhibitions presented at Edmonton City Hall in 2026, building directly on the foundation laid by Living Portraits. Where that exhibition opened a door inviting viewers to look, approach, and engage. To Know Us… steps through it.

The phrase itself is intentionally unfinished. Most people hear it and instinctively complete it: to know us is to love us. To know us is to understand us. That instinct is the point. The exhibit trusts that curiosity, when given the right conditions, leads somewhere meaningful.

To Know Us… continues the work of the City of Edmonton’s Anti-Black Racism Action Plan, and affirms that visibility, while necessary, is only the beginning. To truly see someone is to make space to hear them.
