10 Downtown Patios Off the Beaten Path

The Parlour Italian Kitchen & Bar (10334 108 St NW)

Pretend you are in Venice while dining on one of the best looking, most secluded patios in downtown.
The Parlour’s patio is located behind their store front and has a back alley entrance to their patio which is adorned with twinkling patio lights, lemon yellow seats and a lovely solid brick background – making it the perfect lunch or dinner spot. The patio is equipped for all weather with an outdoor wood fireplace, multiple heaters and trees that provide much needed shade from the summer sun so you can comfortably dine any time.

District Moto Café & Bar (10309 107 St NW)

If you’re a Vespa aficionado, you probably have already stumbled upon District Moto’s patio. While tiny, it sure is mighty – serving a well curated menu, Alberta craft beers, and coffee! District Moto is located well-off Jasper Ave so you can look forward to a quieter, intimate side-walk patio experience and who knows – you might leave on a Vespa!

Baijiu (10363 104 St - South)
If you are not already obsessed with Baijiu, let me tell you why you should be – Baijiu is an Asian inspired cocktail bar and eatery whose bartender, James Grant, was awarded the title of Canada’s Best Bartender this past year. Work through their extensive back bar while you munch on small shares ordered a la carte style. Their patio lines the south side of the historic Mercer Warehouse building, equipped with picnic table style seating, live music, and gas fireplaces to keep you cozy well into the night. Look out for their weekly food and drink specials!

Mercer Tavern (10363 104 St - North)

The Mercer Warehouse built in 1911 was originally used to store liquor and wine – so Mercer Tavern carries on the legacy of the building with their wide selection of beer, cocktails, and wine. In addition to liquor, they also offer brunch, classic pub fare, signature pizzas, and burgers. Their patio extends onto 103A Ave, across the street from Rogers Place. The floor lined with Astro Terf, with picnic tables and large chairs you could melt into – you don’t have to leave the city for a glamping party experience this summer!

Braven (10344 102 St NW)

We all need an excuse to get fancy occasionally, so why not let Braven take care of your next evening out? Braven is located within the luxurious JW Marriot hotel with their new patio situated on the corner of the Ice District Plaza. Their patio design is well-thought out for maximum comfort while maintaining a posh vibe. Finish your night off with a cocktail on the Alchemy sky patio, located on the upper levels of the JW Marriot.

Maria Northern Mexican Cuisine (10220 103 St NW)

103 Street or shall we call it the ultimate sidewalk patio destination? Nestled in between Sabor and The Creperie, Maria is a new addition to the core, specializing in Northern Mexican Fare. Northern Mexico is known for their culinary genius, coining and popularizing favorites such as the Burrito, Queso Fresco and Cuajada Cheese, and their flour tortilla game reigns supreme. Maria’s patio has limited seating but if you’re able to get a spot, you can enjoy the hustle and bustle of 103 Street which often includes live music.

Dalla Tavola Zenari (10166 100a St NW)

Cutting the tape off Dalla Travoli Zenari’s new restaurant was the hope some needed through the pandemic. Located on the corner of the renewed Kelly Ramsay Tower, Dalla Tavola Zenari’s patio exists on the beautiful Enbridge Centre Plaza strip, looking on to Rice Howard Way and is perfect for lunchtime meetings, catch-ups or intimate dinners

Red Star (10534 Jasper Ave)

Our wishes came true when Red Star unveiled their first ever patio this summer. Huddled between their and the neighboring building, their gated patio is blocked from the wind, sheltered from the active Jasper Ave street traffic, and quite literally sparkles when the sun hits. Rumor has it that on a 28+ degree day around 9pm, you can reach nirvana as you sip on a negroni slushie while listening to their lo-fi beats.

9910 (9910 109 St NW)
We’re going to let you in on a little secret, 9910 has opened their first ever patio and we couldn’t be more excited! To access their new digs, enter through the lounge and you will be directed to their hidden patio. This is the spot if you are looking to get away, without really going anywhere. On Thursdays from 5-10pm, cool down with a cocktail and Andy Jam spinning vinyl all night long.

Central Social Hall (10909 Jasper Ave)

Central Social Hall is for everyone, whether that be for date night, a bachelor party, lunch with mom, or a birthday celebration – there is something to satisfy even the toughest of critics. With so much going on their elevated back patio provides an oasis to keep you well above everything else. Check out their new menu filled with shareable dishes, bringing the social back to Central Social Hall.
