Downtown Edmonton’s Favourite Food Event is Back

Edmonton’s much-anticipated Downtown Dining Week is back March 15 to March 26. More than 55 restaurants will offer multi-course $20, $35, $50 and $65 menus for brunch, lunch and dinner, with delicious flavours from every corner of the globe. This annual event gives people an opportunity to explore downtown’s exceptional culinary landscape and taste everything from beef sirloin to lamb shanks, bao sandwiches to bibimbap bowls, and more, for special prices.

In the past six months, there has been an increased appetite for dining out and a return in consumer confidence that is helping our downtown restaurants slowly return to pre-pandemic levels. Along with a return-to-office push from downtown’s major employees and business leaders, there is renewed optimism for the downtown’s hospitality sector.

“We know downtown employees are steadily working their way back to the office and people across the whole city and province have started rediscovering everything downtown Edmonton has to offer. We hope they will all take advantage of the Dining Week deals to try a new dining experience or revisit an old favourite,” says Puneeta McBryan, Executive Director of the Edmonton Downtown Business Association. “Things are looking up downtown, with more fun than we’ve had since pre-COVID, but we still have to keep the ‘support local’ message alive.”

“Our Downtown hospitality businesses represent some of the city’s most loved culinary institutions and some of the most exciting new hotspots. There’s really something for everyone during Dining week,” says Puneeta McBryan, Executive Director of the Edmonton Downtown Business Association. “We have also planned more ways than ever to explore the Downtown culinary scene with contests, promotions and deals launching in the next week.”

The 11-day celebration welcomes back notable restaurants and long-standing businesses such as The Marc, LaRonde, TZIN and Ruth’s Chris. New to Downtown Dining Week are El Furniture Warehouse, Hoang Long 888, and Birdog, operated by Century Hospitality Group. Birdog which opened last November, joins two other Century Hospitality Group restaurants in the downtown core that are participating in Downtown Dining Week.

“We’re thrilled to be part of this vibrant downtown community and we see so much potential here. For this year’s Downtown Dining Week, we’re really excited to introduce people to Birdog, our newest restaurant, and welcome people back to LUX Steakhour + Bar 94 and The Parlour,” says Tony Le, Executive Chef, Century Hospitality Group.

Diners are encouraged to book their reservations directly with participating restaurants.
