Building Infill: A Modular Housing Future

What Are People For? Design Philosophy by Patrick Whitney

Edmonton Design Week presents the Canadian premiere of What Are People For?, a new documentary about strategic design pioneer Patrick Whitney. Following the screening, Whitney joins filmmaker Gary Hustwit’s collaborators and local design leaders for a live discussion exploring how design can help tackle complex challenges, from healthcare systems to civic infrastructure.
Reciprocity by Design: A Design Salon

Working Class Heritage Tour of Downtown Edmonton

Discover the stories of the workers who helped build Edmonton on this guided walking tour through downtown. Beginning at the Milner Library and travelling toward Grierson Hill, the tour highlights the people, places, and social conditions that shaped the city’s development. Participants will receive a free illustrated booklet to accompany the experience.
Culture as Infrastructure: Making Space for Art in Edmonton

Join CIVIQ Labs Society for an afternoon of conversation exploring how artists, creative spaces, and community partnerships contribute to a vibrant downtown.
