We’re a small office with a lot to give. If you’re a downtown business in need of support we’re here to help or point you in the right direction.

What kind of support can I get as a downtown business?

There’s absolutely no doubt that it can feel like a complex system when you’re a business owner. We’re here to support in numerous ways and if we’re not the right people, we can point you in the right direction.

Our support can include but is not limited to:
• marketing/promotion for our member businesses or downtown events
• advocate for the needs of businesses, as well as the greater downtown community
• act as a connection to appropriate municipal, provincial, and federal resources, grants and other supports

Who should I contact for media or marketing?

Our Director of Marketing and Communications, Quinn Phillips, can help you navigate any questions about promotion for your business or an event you are hosting. She also comes with expertise in working with the media to help you navigate media requests or efforts to promote your business through the media. If you have a story to tell reach out to quinn@edmontondowntown.com or through this contact form.

Who do I contact for operational support?

Our operations team is in the know on who to contact within the City of Edmonton for all kinds of operational supports for businesses. While our team may not be able to support directly, they can quickly point you in the right direction. Reach out to our Manager of Operations Carolyn Playdon.

How do I report downtown safety or cleanliness issues?

Safety and/or cleanliness issues can be reported through the City of Edmonton’s 311 App. Non-Emergency safety incidents can be reported through the non-emergency line with Edmonton Police Service. Please know that our Downtown Ambassadors are active on downtown streets and pedways throughout the week and can identify and report cleanliness issues, while our Core Patrol is monitoring the area overnight seven days a week.

*Please note Core Patrol is not a replacement for Edmonton Police Service. In case of emergency, please call 911.

I’m hosting an event and want to apply for a grant, can the EDBA help?

The Edmonton Downtown Business Association does support events through its Festival and Events Grant. You can find the application and requirements here. Applications open in January of each year and we recommend you apply early to secure funding.
The City of Edmonton also has access to funds through the Festival and Events Micro Grant Program and the WinterCity Festivals and Events Grant.

How do I join or renew my membership?

By ensuring your business license is up to do date, you’re automatically a member if you are within the boundaries of our BIA. If you’re unsure, please contact info@edmontondowntown.com.
