Pursuing dentistry with heart: Dr. Baldip Sihota

This dentist is returning to her hometown to help Edmontonians discover their smiles, bringing nearly 20 years of experience in Invisalign® orthodontics and cosmetic dentistry.
“The most rewarding part of my job is seeing how much a healthy, confident smile can impact someone’s quality of life.”

Finding a good dentist can be a very intimidating process. You want to make sure that not only are they doing a good job, but that they’re actually listening to you, ensuring you’re comfortable and giving you results you’re happy with.

Dr. Baldip Sihota has a true passion for dentistry, and she believes the most important part is helping her patients leave with a smile. “Whether it’s helping someone overcome dental pain and anxiety, improving bite problems, or creating a smile transformation… I love being part of that journey for someone,” says Dr. Sihota.

Ever since her youth, she was interested in a career that combined science, creativity and working closely with people. “Dentistry is a great fit because it allows me to build relationships with patients while using both technical skills and creativity to improve their oral health and confidence,” says Dr. Sihota.

Upon completing her dental degree from the University of Manitoba in 2007, she developed her practice in several communities across Ontario and Alberta. She quickly built a wide range of skill sets, and she says, “[my past experiences] helped shape the way I approach comprehensive patient care.”

Now, Dr. Sihota has nearly 20 years of experience and advanced training in Invisalign® orthodontics, cosmetic dentistry and general dental care.

She and her family returned to her hometown of Edmonton two years ago and joined the team at 7th Street Dental Centre, located in the heart of downtown on the corner of 107 Street and 100 Avenue. She says she was drawn to the clinic because of “its strong reputation, experienced team, and commitment to providing high-quality care.” It was a perfect fit; now she can offer a wide range of treatments and truly personalized services.

For Dr. Sihota, working downtown is like coming home. “It’s a little nostalgic for me,” she says. “Our clinic is only a block away from my very first high school job—I was a Page at the Alberta Legislature back in the day! It feels like a bit of a full circle moment to be back here serving the community I grew up in.”

She loves seeing the diverse crowd of patients who walk through the door, ranging from downtown professionals and prominent Edmontonians who are helping shape the city to young families and university students. “There is so much talent in downtown Edmonton, and it makes me proud to see how our city has evolved and continues to grow,” says Dr. Sihota.

To make visiting as seamless as possible for patients traveling downtown, 7th Street Dental Centre offers complimentary parking. As Dr. Sihota puts it, “We understand that convenience matters, especially in downtown Edmonton.”
