Treaty No. 6 Recognition Day allows us to acknowledge the many contributions that Treaty No. 6 First Nations made in Edmonton’s founding and growth, and to come together in an act of reconciliation through a shared commitment to work positively together in a relationship founded on honour and respect.
What to Expect
9 AM–11 AM: Formal Commemorative Program (City Hall)
See the Grand Entry, Invocation, Honour Song, cultural presentation, proclamation, gift exchange and remarks from Grand Chief Joey Pete and Mayor Andrew Knack.
11 AM–12 PM: Public Reception (City Hall)
Take part in the public reception, including a light lunch, which will follow the formal program.
12 PM–7 PM: Commemorative Celebration (Churchill Square)
