This May, Edmonton hosts its only Vietnamese art and heritage exhibit dedicated to Asian Heritage Month. Where we came from (and where we go from here) is a meaningful exploration of the Vietnamese-Edmonton story, featuring community reflections, portraits, art installations and immersive vignettes. Through the central themes of migration, identity, family and resilience, the exhibit offers a rare opportunity for visitors to connect with deeply personal lived experiences that resonate across all communities.
As the first exhibit of its kind in the city, this initiative serves as a vital space for both Vietnamese-Edmontonians and the broader public to better understand the history and future of this vibrant community. The month-long showcase includes free drop-in gallery hours along with four specialized events designed to foster deeper connection and dialogue.
