If one thing is true, it’s this: downtown Edmonton always has something going on. You can shop, sip and stroll the core, chill on a patio, experience local art and party at a festival—all just steps away from the river valley!
Now the City of Edmonton and the Edmonton Arts Council are inviting you to turn up downtown as part of their exciting new initiative to highlight 2026 events.
DOWNTOWN PLAYDATES IN PARK SPACES

From now until December, downtown parks will come alive with fun, games and community cheer.
For backyard games, live performances and high-energy DJ beats, show up to the beloved Alex Decoteau Park every other Monday from 5 – 8 PM or the newly refurbished Beaver Hills House and Michael Phair Park every Wednesday alternating between 12 – 2 PM and 5 – 7 PM.
To take a break from work and decompress with some mini golf, stop by Centennial Plaza behind the Stanley A. Milner Library every Friday from 11 – 6 PM.
For family-friendly activities, backyard games, and exciting events like pancake breakfasts or basketball tournaments, head to O-day’min Park every other Saturday from 12 – 4 PM.

This summer, you can enjoy music and entertainment with your food and drink of choice on the street at two weekly events: The Summer Block Party Series and The Downtown Farmers’ Market.
The Summer Block Party Series is back and busier than ever! Every Saturday, they’ll be turning up the volume with live music, patio vibes and unforgettable energy. Whether you drift in after the Downtown Farmers’ Market, wander over between festivals or come for the party, this is the perfect casual hangout spot. Let downtown surprise you!

The Downtown Farmers’ Market is the best place to pick up organic fruits & veggies, homemade treats and artisanal goods in the core. Over 35 vendors line 104 Street every Saturday alongside stunning local performers. Plus, this year hands-on craft workshops, unique events and deals from businesses on the street are bringing brand-new excitement to market days. (PS. You can bring your dog too.)

Where: 104 Street and Jasper Avenue
